Yoga for Men

The entire human race is divided into males and females. There are many physical, physiological, mental and emotional differences that exist between the males and females. These differences make the males and females as unique as they are. These gender differences are not just sexual in orientation but they make each part of the human species unique in their own way. The general perceptions that exist between the genders will only be highlighted here for developing a basic insight into the fundamental differences between the genders.

An indispensable part of the discussion focuses on the fact that the nature has created the males to be the providers and the females to be the nurturers. This is why the basic infrastructure of the male body is stronger than the females. The idea is not to cross paths with any ideologies or groups favouring certain sensibilities. We shall keep the discussion here restricted only to the basic infrastructure that defines the differences in the genders.

The essential constitution of the male body is directed towards strength, vigour and vitality. This is because the basic musculature and skeletal systems are stronger than those of the females. This is a broadly generalized view and specific exceptions are always existent. The bones of the skeleton system form the basic infrastructure of the body and over them is the coating of muscles. Both the bones and muscles of the male body are better developed than those of the females. This is the reason the males are known as the stronger sex and the females are known as the delicate sex or the fairer sex. The muscular strength has helped the male tide over years of evolutionary process as it gives him the ability to survive the hardships. This basic strength of the body is also supported by higher metabolic rate and stronger and more proactive organic functioning.

Yoga for Men

The extra strength of the body has to be developed and maintained for healthy and disease free life. The various body yoga postures and yoga positions done in yoga can be very beneficial for men. There are various yoga postures that enhance the muscles and bones of the body. Also the basic organic functioning of the body can be augmented by doing yoga. Yoga is an option for healthy lifestyle for people of various age groups. A daily routine of yoga can be gradually built up which can be followed as per one's convenience and interest.

It is seen that the men who practice yoga along with other forms of exercises benefit more. This is because the yoga practices are designed according to the physical, physiological and even emotional and mental aspects of the constitution of the body. The muscle building postures of yoga give sleekness and power to the muscles of the body. They do not give artificial muscle build up to the system but tone up the muscles in their natural flow and arrangement. The yoga practices can be well adapted without much difficulty as they are not strenuous in any way to the system. Even the people who are suffering from any injury related situation can practice them without any difficulty. The people with any other ailments can also practice yoga for their mental and physical well being without any fears of enhancing their situations. In fact yoga has much therapeutic values which can be explored for improving upon the health related factors. Certain situations of reproductive organs can be solved with Garudasana, Yoniasana and Vrikshasana. Excessive sexual thoughts can be controlled by practice of Guptasana andSiddhasana.

Yoga is one form of complete exercise for the entire system because no other form of physical exercise gives a complete workout to the external as well as the internal organs of the system. The practice of specific asanas and pranayama can develop the internal organs and the respiratory system so that the flow of vital prana is completely regulated in the system. This in turn controls and keeps all the other systems working in complete coordination and optimum state. Yoga for men can therefore prove to be very beneficial for men as it allows them to develop all the faculties of the body simultaneously.

It is seen that the needs of the modern day lives are constantly changing. So it is just not enough for men to only rely on their physical strength anymore. Besides women are matching them in almost all the forays of life. This has sort of created confusion in the life as the basic boundaries between the duties of different genders are now not all that crystal clear as earlier. This has increased considerable conflict in male and female relationships. With the practice of yogic meditation and yoga nidra the stressful situations can be amicably handled. In addition the practice of meditation can bring about considerable awareness of the inner self and this process of looking within him can increase his understanding of the situations around him. The practice of meditation can certainly help men to adjust better in the changing social and personal situations and help them to control their actions and reactions in any stressful circumstances.

Several problems that men find difficult to discuss and are a kind of threat to their masculinity can be effectively tackled with the practice of yoga. The issues of impotency and certain psychological situations can be controlled successfully by using certain asanas and practice of yoga nidra. It would be a beneficial exercise to chalk out a certain regime for oneself and practice it for consistent results.
