If you are looking for making some healthy snacks, but need some help coming up with ideas for them, you can be assured that there are plenty of healthy options to choose from and you do not have to sacrifice taste to save calories. Most snack recipes that you may already have can also be modified to be healthy snack recipes with lower fat and lower calorie as well.

Here are a couple popular and easy healthy snack recipes for you to enjoy.

Avocado Tea Sandwiches

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise (reduced fat)
  • ½ teaspoon of lemon juice
  • 1/8 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 8 thin slices of whole wheat bread
  • 2 ounces of thinly sliced, smoked salmon
  • 12 slices of thin cucumber

Combine the mayonnaise, lemon juice and pepper together in a bowl. Spread this mixture on top of the bread and then add on the salmon slices, avocado slices and cucumber.

Feta and Herb Dip with Crudités

  • 1 can of white beans, drained and rinsed
  • ¾ cup of nonfat yogurt
  • ½ cup of feta cheese – crumbled
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon of pepper
  • ¼ cup chopped parsley
  • ¼ cup chopped dill
  • ¼ cup chopped mint
  • ¼ cup chopped chives

Place the white beans, yogurt, lemon juice, feta, pepper and garlic salt into a food processor and begin to puree until the mixture becomes smooth. Add in the herbs and continue to puree until it is completely mixed. Chill the mixture until it is ready to be served. Serve with baby carrots, bell pepper strips, radishes, broccoli, cauliflower and snow peas.

These are just a couple of the many options available for healthy snack recipes. You can have the taste and enjoyment of a snack without having to go overboard on fat and calories.
