Ingredients for Chili Chicken:
- 500-600 grams of boneless chicken
- 2 tbsp of Soya sauce
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp corn flour or corn starch
- 5-6 finely chopped green chilies
- 2 green onions
- 1 tsp of garlic paste
- ½ tsp of white pepper powder
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp oil
- 2 cups chicken broth and water
Combine the Soya sauce, corn flour, salt and egg into a medium bowl and mix completely. Use this mixture to marinate the chicken breast pieces. Let the chicken marinate in this mixture for 15 minutes. Next, heat the oil in a pan and add the marinated chicken. Fry the chicken until it is golden brown. Make sure to keep stirring and flipping the chicken so that it will not stick, or get brown to fast.
In a wok, heat the oil and add in the garlic paste and green chilies. Sauté the mixture for a couple minutes making sure you are constantly stirring the mixture. Add in the chicken broth and water, bringing it to a boil. Add in the sugar, pepper powder, salt and remaining Soya sauce. Add the chicken in the wok and cook all together for a few minutes. Dissolve the corn flour in a ½ cup of warm water and add to the curry. Make sure to stir constantly to avoid forming lumps. Cook this mixture for about 2 minutes.
Garnish your chili chicken with chopped green onions and serve with rice. Enjoy!
