What Is Manic Depression?
People who are suffering from bipolar disorder are unable to control their behaviour. This ailment is also known as manic depression. They sometimes suffer with mood fluctuations. One tends to loose total interest in life, is unable to concentrate in the work, have less or no sexual eagerness, suffers from bouts of depression, loose hope towards life and is unable to concentrate.

The bipolar disorder cannot be cured completely. One has to understand the situation and deal with them accordingly. The incidents which trigger off their violent behaviour should be avoided. The people who take care of them will have to handle the situation very carefully.
If the situations are kept under control then the people suffering from this disease can lead a healthy and normal life. The patient should try to monitor his/her mood and thus take the situation totally under control. Help from reliable people can also be taken. If some violent traits are seen then they should be advised total rest thus taking the situation totally under control.
It is not possible to monitor those people who suffer from extreme behavioral changes. For people suffering from acute bipolar disorder antidepressants have to be administered which have to be prescribed by the psychiatrists. The medicine has to be given as per the advice of the doctor and should not be stopped or dose increased without the recommendation of the doctor.
The blood levels have to be checked regularly. The disorder can affect both women and men. The onset of the disorder is noticed during the adolescence stage. The disorder is genetically inherited. This disorder has a bad effect on the life of the patient as well as the lives of the other family members and the care taker.
For people suffering from bipolar disorder care should be taken to keep the mood swings under control. One should continue the treatment regularly. To keep the mood swings under control the patient should see that he/she get proper mount of sleep.
