Rasala (squash type preparation)-This preparation is available in Susruta Samhita , Ashtaang samgraha, Ashtaang hridyam and Chukradutta text. The other text Sharangdhar Samhita and Bhaishajiya ratnavali text doesn’t describe about it. Presently it is used as juices and concentrations and squashes.

Raaga (preserved fruit juice based spicy preparation)-It is a preparation that is not described in any of the text. The pickle of modern times are much similar with the raaga preparation.

Shtadhaut ghrita (ghee processed after washing 100 times)-This is a preparation made of processed ghee by washing it 100 times. This preparation is found in Ashtaang hridyam only. Presently it is rarely used by ayurvedic practitioner at their personal level. This preparation must be explored.

Sharkara (squash type preparation)-The traditional Indian ‘sahrbat’ drink is just the same as sharkara. It is available in Susruta Samhita , Ashtaang samgraha, Ashtaang hridyam and the other three text don’t describe about it. Presently it is used as squash or juice concentrate.

Sashkuli (poori Indian deep fried bread in oil or ghee)-This is a part of Indian cuisine now days. It is described as medicine in Susruta Samhita , and the Ashtaang samgraha, Ashtaang hridyam, Chukradutta text, Sharangdhar Samhita and Bhaishajiya ratnavali text doesn’t describe about it as medicament. Presently it is used as food product.

Shakakalpana (vegetables preparations)-This medicament describes about the use of vegetables as food and medicine in ancient times. This is not described by Susruta Samhita , Ashtaang samgraha and Sharangdhar Samhita as medicament while as Ashtaang hridyam Chukradutta text and Bhaishajiya ratnavali describe it as medicament. Presently vegetables are used across the globe in various forms and types.

Shindaki (fermented preparation)-This a preparation based upon fermentation process. This is present in Susruta Samhita and Chukradutta text while unavailable in Ashtaang samgraha Ashtaang hridyam Sharangdhar Samhita and Bhaishajiya ratnavali text. Presently it is not used any ways.

Sheet Kalpana (cold infusion)-This preparation is present in Susruta Samhita Ashtaang samgraha Ashtaang hridyam and Chukradutta text. The Sharangdhar Samhita and Bhaishajiya ratnavali text don’t describe about such type of preparation. Presently it is used as cold coffee like preparation and modern pharmacies don’t use it anyways. The variety of herbal teas and some powdered formulations to be used as cold infusion are present in general and domestic practices.

Shulya masam (typical class of meat )-As we know that the majority of food preparations are developed from the old medicament. Like wise the verity of processed meat by different methods is present in the Susruta Samhita and Charka Samhita. The above preparation is such type of preparation. It is present in Susruta Samhita only. The other text didn’t describe about this preparation. Later on it is included in Indian cuisine. Presently different verities of meats are used as international cuisine across the globe.

Shrita (decoction)- this preparation is based on the decoctions of different herbs and medicines. It is available in all the Samhita texts by the name of quath. It is not found by the name of shrita in the Susruta Samhita Ashtaang samgraha Chukradutta text Sharangdhar and Bhaishajiya ratnavali text. It is described under the shrita name and Bhaishajiya ratnavali text me in Ashtaang hridyam and charka Samhita only. Presently the ayurvedic practitioners and domestic practices use it. It is the most effective way for taking the fresh ayurvedic preparations.

Shadangapaniya (a preparation of six herbs to be used as vehicle of medicine in all types of fever)-It is the decoction of six herbs taken in equal preparation's is used for the antipyretic purpose and removing the burning sensation produced my high grade fever, malaria viral fever and other feverish conditions. It is used by ayurvedic practitioners. This must be added to the complementary medicine for the antipyretic group. It is included in the Susruta Samhita Chukradutta text and Sharangdhar Samhita. The Ashtaang samgraha Ashtaang hridyam and Bhaishajiya ratnavali text have no description about this preparation. This is used as vehicle for the medicines for malarial fever and high-grade fevers in Ayurveda.

Saktu (roasted flour preparation)-This is a type of preparation is used as food in various parts of eastern and north eastern region of India. It is described as medicament for the sunstroke and related symptoms in the Susruta Samhita Ashtaang samgraha Ashtaang hridyam and Sharangdhar Samhita. It is unavailable in the Chukradutta text and Bhaishajiya ratnavali text. Presently it is used as traditional drink in hot summers of India regions of river Indo-Gangetic plains.

Sarpadinstha phala prayoga ( the use of fruit on which snake has left out the venom)- This is a preparation which revels that the Indian scientist were very keen to observe the use of every possible drug as medicine. The above medicament used by Charka is an example of it .This preparation is found in the Charka Samhita only. The rest of the all text don’t describe about it.

Sarpigudam (this is an ambiguous preparation )- This preparation is found in the Ashtaang samgraha text only and the rest text have no descriptions about this preparation. Presently this preparation is not found in any ways and need to be explored.

Sashtradhaut ghrita (ghee processed after washing 1000 times)- This preparation is unavailable in any of the text other than the Charka Samhita. It was used in burning conditions/cases. Presently this preparation is not found in any ways and need to be explored.

Sup-This food based preparation is more like the soup and is unavailable in all the text other than the Charka Samhita. Presently it is not found in any ways.

Seka (ophthalmic preparation)- This preparation is like the present days ophthalmic eye drops. It is unavailable in the Susruta Samhita, Ashtaang samgraha and Chukradutta text. The Ashtaang hridyam, Sharangdhar Samhita and Bhaishajiya ratnavali text includes it in medicament. Presently a lot of ayurvedic and modern eye drops are present in the market.

Swaras (extract juice)-This medicament is dying up because the fresh herbs are not available and the complex and easy medicament forms available these days reduced this type of preparation up to the domestic and general level practices only. However it is the most effective form of herbs. Only the Ashtaang samgraha didn't described about this preparation. The all other Samhita described about this preparation.

Swedanam (sweating procedure)-This is a panchakarma procedure. Presently the all spas and panchakarma resorts are using this process as sauna bath and is very much similar to this. This is of various types and practiced differently in many countries across the globe.

Takram (butter milk)-This food based preparation is available in all the text of ayurveda related with medicament. This is used as vehicle for the hyper acidic conditions and as food part worldwide. It is also constituent of a medicine named takrarishta that is used as a medicine for irritable bowel syndrome and ulcerative colitis conditions.
