Are you a homeowner? Are you trying to figure out how to organize your home? If so, then these suggestions should help you in your organizing process.

First, if you have a family, it's important that you and your family members are organized, before you can start planning on how to organize the house itself. If you are like many people, you are probably in a hurry every morning. It would be a good idea to start planning for the day ahead, the night before. For example, set out the clothes you are going to wear, and get your breakfast items in place. You should also put your purse, briefcase, or keys, in the same spot everyday, so you know exactly where they are. Many people don't do this, and they waste valuable time in the mornings searching for various items.

Once you and everyone else in your family is better organized, it's time to organize the home itself. Probably the first place that needs organization in any home, is the kitchen. When starting to organize your kitchen, you should put each items on a different shelf, in each cabinet. For example, have all plates on one shelf, and all cups on another shelf. Some other helpful tips you can follow to organize your kitchen, are to group your foods together in the pantry (ie: put all canned goods together, put all pastas together), use a spice rack to keep all your spices in, reserve your counter top space only for items you use daily, and clean out your refrigerator each time you get new groceries (be sure to throw out any expired food, or any other food you won't eat).

Moving on to the bathroom, there are several simple tips you can follow, to keep yours clean and organized. The first thing you should do, is throw away anything you don't need, such as expired medicine or old lotions, perfumes, and etc. For your shower, you can buy an item called a "shower caddy", these are used to hold things such as shampoos, soaps, and etc. You should also keep your bathroom countertop clean and don't leave out anything, except any essential items. Anything else should be kept in the medicine cabinet or in a drawer, to reduce clutter. Also, you should put a clock in your bathroom, so if you're taking a bath or getting ready, you can keep track of the time.

Finally, if you live with a family or have roommates, you should assign everyone certain tasks, such as cleaning their rooms, or taking out the trash. It would also be a good idea to have a wastebasket in each room, and to keep a message board on the fridge (you can use this to list things you need for groceries, or to list chores that need to be done).
