Foaming, Gushing Waterfalls at Langkawi
Langkawi, an archipelago consisting of as many as 100 islands, scattered over the Arabian Sea, off the Malaysian Coast, is a very pleasant tourist spot and more often than not makes its way into the itinerary of tourists traveling in Malaysia. Langkawi has several tourist attractions. What tourists sometimes miss out are the waterfalls in Langkawi. Langkawi has three significant waterfalls which make great picnic spots where one can spend a leisurely day in the lap of nature with his loved ones or enjoy solitude if that’s what he is craving.
Telaga Tujuh Waterfall is the most popular waterfall in Langkawai. ‘Telaga Tujuh’ literally means ‘Seven Wells’, and let me tell you the significance of its etymology. The waterfall consists of seven pools, and during rainy season, the water gushes from one pool to another, finally plunging into the seventh one! Have you ever seen such an astounding creation of nature?! The locals would be glad to tell you about the myth connected with the Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls, that fairies take their bath there. The waterfall is so exquisite and beautiful, that you would find yourself believing it! Lush greenery forms the perfect background for the Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls. The top of the waterfall is a perfect place for the adventurous to go trekking along. Macaque monkeys, squirrels, hornbills and varieties of birds might choose to honor you with a glimpse of their exotic selves. The view of this waterfall while on a cable car ride has been agreed to be breathtaking by all tourists.
The Air Terjun Temurun Waterfall is located in the Mat Cincang Nature Park of Datai, between the famous Crocodile farm and the resort. Tourists gather to see foaming water making a 30 m headlong plunge in a pool below, which is a nice place for taking a refreshing dip o a hot day. It might not be too much fun during the dry season, but during the rainy season, the waterfall is at its liveliest best. While you are there, check out the beautiful archway along the road.
Durian Perangin Falls, Raya Mountain Nature Park, can be reached by a car and then one would need to climb a few steps to find oneself face-to-face with Durian Perangin Falls. It’s a majestic 14-storeyed waterfall that also displays exotic boulder structures and varieties of greenery.
