Crater-Lake-National-ParkOften a holiday in the United States is associated with the glamour and glitz of posh casinos, stately sky-scarpers and exotic theme parks. The Crater Lake National Park gives you an opportunity to see the gorgeous natural beauty of this vast country. Located in south Oregon near the California border, this national park is a stretch of unspoilt natural beauty. A great place to enjoy the outdoors and rewind in the panorama of the landscape here, a visit to the Crater National Park is a must for every visitor travelling to the United States.

The focal point of this national park and its best known attraction is the Lake Crater. Considered to be the deepest lake in the United States, Lake Crater attracts tourists due to its deepest color of blue and its crystal clear waters. The sight of this lake with its distinct bluish purple waters surrounded by volcanic peaks and colourful wild flowers is truly captivating. Besides, there are many other interesting geological features in this national park where you can see the amazing mystic of nature. The Pinnacles is an area of the park where you can see protrusions arising out of the earth in all different sizes and shapes. Besides, there are many extinct volcanic peaks and craters that add to the rustic beauty of the landscape here. Mount Scott is a small conical volcanic peak that offers panoramic views of the Lake Crater. There is a scenic hiking trail leading up to the summit, which takes you past beautiful mountain scenery.

The best way to enjoy the scenic beauty of Lake Crater is to visit the Wizard Island located on the west end of Lake Crater. This island is a volcanic cone shaped island, accessible by boat. A boat ride to the Wizard Island enables you to see the clear blue waters of Lake Crater up-close, and you can enjoy a fun-filled family picnic at the Wizard Island located on the lake.  The Cleetwood Cove Trail is the most preferred hiking trail in the national park as it leads you close to the edge of Lake Crater from where you can see the beauty of the lake closely.
