Experience Tranquility in the Elegance of Singita Sabi Sand, South Africa

Singita-Sabi-SandSecluded in the exotic jungle of the Kruger National Park, you will find sedate retreats in the Singita Sabi Sand hotel. Rated as one of the world’s best, it lives up to its name as it offers an ambiance of ancient traditional decor in harmony with nature alongside comfort of modern facilities.

Covering an area of 45,000 acres, the Sabi Sand Game Reserve is home to two magnificent lodges from where you can enjoy wildlife from your own balcony. The two lodges, Singita Ebony and Boulders Lodge have their own unique charm yet have a common elegant style of space. Both lodges have twelve suits accompanied with unmatched facilities and excellent service.

Singita Ebony - The suites have a colonial style of decor, with the elegance of Egyptian and African influences. Overlooking the Sand River amidst ebony forests, you can relax in your ‘easy chair’ and get up close and personal with wildlife (such as antelopes, elephants and buffalos) grazing on the banks of the river.

Boulders Lodge – its name was derived from a colossal boulder, around which a wine cellar is built now. Contemporary and futuristic in its style, the lodge has still blended the ancient grace of African designs. The lookout decks, thatched lounges, open spaces and radiant ponds, creates a space where you can experience the calm vibes of the natural environment.

In the lodges you can shop at the Singita Shop famous for a special collection of African curios and artifacts. You could also taste vintage wines at the Premier Wine Boutique. While relaxing in the lodges is one way of spending your time you could also venture into the wild. You could go for guided safaris, game drives with professional trackers, mountain biking, community tours to neighboring native villages.

Apart from these two lodges, only a handful of people know about the Singita Castleton Camp. The cottages are a private hideaway, adorning stone walls and amazing relics creating a cozy place in the wild jungle. You can indulge in some delicious cuisine, and savor classic South African wines, or enjoy a downer or dinner by the fire in the bush.

To reach Singita Sabi Sand you get direct flights from the Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. If you are travelling by road, the place is 500 kilometers from Johannesburg, 150 kilometers from Nelspruit and 75 kilometers from Hazyview.

A few aspects to keep in mind while travelling here are; to take precaution against malaria which is present in these regions. You should consult your doctor to obtain preventive medicine. While on a safari, make sure to wear comfortable shoes or boots and it is best to wear clothes of neutral or pastel colors as dark colored clothing usually attracts bugs especially tsetse flies.

Singita Sabi Sand is place where you can unwind in the crisp air of the natural forest, soaking in the African ambiance and experiencing wildlife; an experience that will be everlasting.
