BlackBerry Bold 9700
After almost a year, RIM has finally announced the second generation of its Popular Bold SmartPhone -- BlackBerry Bold 9700.It is not specially targeted to any genre. BlackBerry Bold 9700 is lighter and smaller than its predecessor. BlackBerry Bold 9700 is 19 grams lighter and 5mm shorter (across its length and width) than Blackberry Bold 9000. The company has increased the product number but the fat has been decreased. It measures 109x60x14.1 (H x W x D) mm. Its weight is approximately 120g.
BlackBerry Bold 9700 has new state-of-art features and great looks. It has a 2.44” light sensing display that supports a resolution of 480x36 pixels. It can support 65k different colors. It uses QWERTY keyboard. For navigation, it uses optical (touch sensitive) trackpad rather than traditional jogball. It has 256 MB ROM. It has leather back for stylish looks.
BlackBerry Bold 9700 has a 3.2 Mega Pixel camera with 4x zoom feature, LED flash and autofocus. It has media player and a built in Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) and GPS connectivity with UMA support. It supports GPRS, UMTS, WAP, HSDPA and EDGE data services. It has internal flash memory of 256 MB. This internal memory can be expanded with a 32GB microSD card.
BlackBerry Bold 9700’s battery life is quite good. It has 500 hours (approximately 20 days) stand by time and talk time up to 6 hours. It can support AAC, MP3 (audio formats), mpeg-4 (video format) and jpeg (picture file format) files. BlackBerry Bold 9700 runs on BlackBerry 5.0 operating System. It has a built-in web browser. It has a Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP/AVCRP.
BlackBerry 9700 will be available in 2 versions – one for T-mobile in US and the other for AT&T/Europe/Rogers. It will be available across the globe sometime in November. Pricing details, official release date and carriers are yet to be revealed.
In short, we can say that it is a ‘BlackBerry Dream Device’ for everyone. Initial announcement has created a hype in the market. Let’s see how users will accept it.
