4G is on its way

4gAdvancement in technology never stops. 4G is the future of Mobile Technology. It is the result of human hunger to get more and more. This hunger is the constant force behind every development. The standards and requirements are only in papers. We should call them goals because they are not achieved yet. Key enabler of 4G technology is Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) and MC-CDMA (Multi Carrier CMDA). It will support IPv6 addressing scheme. It is designed in such a way that hundreds of parallel streams will be used simultaneously to send data. It will in effect increase the transmission speed to an unbelievable level.

Initially, 4G seems to be similar than wireless technology. But actually it is much more advanced. Many companies all around the world are working on it and planning to set the standards together. It is expected to launch sometime after 2010. It is predicted that 4G will have much wider bandwidth than earlier ones.

Presently, most of the people are using 2G technology (GSM) and very rapidly changing to 3G due to its super cool features of video downloading, video conferencing, anytime accessibility to news and information. 4G will have much more interesting features than 3G and it is in development phase now. It is supposed that 4G will have 100 Mbps data transfer speed in outdoor areas. For indoor, it is approximated as 1 Gbps.

As 4G will evolve from 3G, users will not have to buy new phone. They just need to upgrade few things. It will allow video conferencing and global roaming. Also, data transfer rates will be higher and cost will be lower. You will be always online with mobile broadband connection. It will have much stronger and tighter safety features. It would be an entirely packet switched digital network with higher data transfer rates and bandwidth. This is not enough for the researchers. They are working on much more exciting features like artificial intelligence, use of senses for communication etc.

These are on papers so nobody is sure that whether these will be a part of 4G or 5G? More competent algorithms would be designed to reduce the interference and improve QoS. Let’s wait for super cool features of 4G. It is coming to touch our lives soon.
