But, being a responsible parent, you can only help her to be out of this situation. If things go out of control, then you can take professional help to normalize the condition. Here are certain tips which may help your kid to be free from depression.

  • Indulge her in exercise activities like jogging or walking for 15 to 30 minutes. Dancing is also a good way to get relief from depression, as it involves lot of creative activity. Exercise or dancing will help her to move away the mind set from the depression and she can feel better within few minutes.
  • Depression often can be related to incomplete nutrition. Depression also affects the appetite. Your child may feel less interested in food, while she is in her bad mood. However, indulge her to eat her favorite foods at this time. Eating plenty of fruits and vegetables helps in proper nourishment and eventually it gives the power to fight depression.
  • Talk to her to know the reason behind her depression. It will help her to release her emotions in front of you. Take her to shopping or go for a walk, so that she can talk about her problem. Once she can pour out her heart, then she will feel much better.
  • Tell her some depressing experience of your life and how you came out of that problem? It is not the end of the road, there is still more things to do. Your experience with depression might help her to fight with this.
  • Show her the positive sides of the life. Identify her strengths and commendable performances in front of her, so that she can regain the lost confidence. Certain depression might take a longer time to heal. Be with her all the time with a helping attitude, so that she can cope up with the situation.
