back-pain-during-pregnancyBackaches are the most common discomfort during pregnancy. As the baby grows inside your womb, the uterus also gets enlarged and your lower portion starts feeling heavy. This extra weight is going to strain your lower back. Another reason of backache is the loosening of the muscles. The muscles in this area become much softer and flexible as the delivery day comes nearer. Hence, they can not carry the entire load successfully, making additional strains to the lower back. The larger your belly becomes, the stronger becomes the pain. You may try out these following tips to alleviate backache.

* Be careful with your posture while you are standing or sitting. While standing, try to balance your body by pushing back the shoulder little bit and tucking the pelvis muscles inside.

* You should be much cautious to pick up any thing from the floor. Bend your leg from the knees and use your leg muscles instead of back muscles to lift the thing.

* You should never carry any heavy article during pregnancy. This way you can avoid various unwanted circumstances.

* It will be better, if you can put one of your legs on a stool, while standing. This will lessen the pressure on your lower back.

* Sit on firm cushions and if possible keep a pillow at the back to rest your back portion.

* Do not be in the same position for a long period of time. Change positions occasionally. Stretch up yourself, if you are sitting for long time. Or take a seat to rest, in case you are standing continuously.

* If you find too tired, then take a short nap. You must use a firm, supportive mattress to have a good night sleep.

* If possible you may try certain yoga position, to keep you free from this problem. However, you must consult your doctor before taking this step. Also, you must go to a professional instructor to practice the tricks.
