When purchasing the frogs make sure that you don’t buy the Dwarf Clawed Frogs. They are very aggressive and look larger in size too.

When keeping frogs you don’t need to make any special arrangements. A regular aquarium with a lid will do. There should be a maximum of two frogs per gallon of water but you will need a larger tank if you are keeping them with fishes. It is necessary to have an aquarium lid as frogs are known to jump.

The water in the aquarium needs to be de-chlorinated before you put the frogs in. they stay best at a water temperature of 25 C. If the water gets too cold then you can use a tank heater. You also need to change the water regularly as they become murky. If you want then you can add a filter but strongly believe that you only need this when you are adding more fishes to the frog tank.

Feeding

African Dwarf Frogs are very fond of frozen bloodworms and brine shrimp. Frogs are known to locate food by seeing and not by
smelling. So you need to drop the food as close to frogs as possible. In your neighborhood pet stores you can also get amphibian food pellets. For their daily nutrients you can give them bamboo plants. You can also these bamboo plants inside the tank.

The frogs are a wonderful sight in the sight as they leap around underwater. They are a playful lot and it is hard to find them confined to a fixed place. They sometimes float in the water at the top and play dead. So just tap on the glass a little to assure yourselves that they are not dead!
