In case of regular cold feet it is best to consult a doctor to rule out any underlying medical condition such as diabetes, anemia or Raynaudâ’s disease. If you are suffering from any of the diseases it is best to get proper medical care for removing the cause. But if there is no medical reason for your cold feet, any of the following tips can be used to decrease or prevent the symptoms.

An instant remedy is standing on the toes for a few minutes and then switching to the heels for the next few minutes. This to and fro movement on the feet when done for a few minutes helps in improving the circulation to the feet and warming them.

Before retiring for the night, dip your feet in cold water for two to three minutes and then dry the feet with a rough towel and also across the arches of your feet till your feet get a warm glow. Another method that can be used is to dip the feet in hot water to which about a cup of salt has been added for a minimum of fifteen minutes. After drying your feet, rub damp salt on them. This would remove the dead skin and invigorate the blood circulation. Rinse and dry your feet after massaging for three to four minutes.

Adding a few drops of essential oils such as ginger, peppermint and cypress to the warm water before dipping the feet in it for 15-20 minutes is also very beneficial.

Another very easy method is to dust some pepper; cayenne or black, in the socks of the sufferer of the cold feet. This is known to provide a definite relief. Another small tip is to wear hiking socks instead of the normal socks. These would not only give relief but also are very stylish.

Making time for exercise on a daily basis also helps in alleviating the cold hands and feet condition. Whenever you feel cold, it is best to go for a short walk which will not only help your health but also will warm your feet.

To reduce incidence of chilly feet give up smoking since the chemical nicotine tightens the blood vessels and hence leads to irregular circulation.
