Massage Tips for Relieving Foot Cramp

foot-massage-crampA foot cramp is mainly caused by poor blood circulation and negligence. Our foot takes all the pressure of our body and thus their well-being is essential for our complete body. Now, if you have a foot cramp, you must take it seriously and relieve it with a nice, relaxing massage. Such a massage will not only help in improving the blood circulation but also aid the recovery of any injuries that might be the root cause of pain in your foot.

So, if you are interested in giving a great massage to your feet, here are a few simple steps that will guide you in performing the task properly.

Pre-massage Preparations

Wash your hands and feet with lukewarm water or take a shower before beginning the massage. This will provide you a better feel by cleaning the dirt and dust while relaxing the tired muscles. Now, make yourself comfortable by sitting in an easy posture and wrap your foot in a warm towel for five minutes.

Focus on One Foot

Let your each foot enjoy the attention of both your hands at a time. So place both your hands on a foot and use your thumbs for gently pressing the sole. This step can be made even better by putting little pressure on the top area of the feet by following a gliding movement.

Stretch and Pull to Relieve the Pain

Stretching the foot arch and pulling the toes can work wonderfully in relieving the foot pain. This can be done by pushing the toe towards the back while bending it downwards. This step should cause a stretch in your entire feet. After completing the stretching part, you must pull every toe gently and rotate the foot in circular motions. Since the purpose of this pulling is to remove stiffness from each and every point of your foot, you can try pulling in different directions or create an up and down movement.

Using aromatherapy oil like lavender or rosemary can greatly enhance the effectiveness of your massage. Knowing these steps you can give an awesome massage to yourself or someone close to you, rather than looking for a reflexology or foot massage point.
