Halitosis, or Bad Breath
The medical term of bad breath is halitosis. A good number of people often suffer from this problem and feel embarrassed to come in front of the people. A little effort can remove this embarrassing situation. To remove the problem, first find out the causes of bad breath.
The causes that play behind halitosis or breathing bad odor may be numerous – gum disease, tooth decay, respiratory tract infection, constipation, smoking, fever, salivary gland disorder, too much protein rich diet, diabetes, infection in gastrointestinal tract, liver dysfunction and many more.
To fight halitosis one should follow some necessary steps. Increase the amount of fruits and vegetables in your diet. Decrease the amount of meat or other protein which creates toxins in your body. After every eating wash your mouth properly. Drink enough water, at least 8-10 glasses of water everyday. The juice of alfalfa cleanses the bloodstream and colon and thus resists the bad smell of the mouth. Drink 1 tablespoon of this juice everyday. Chew few leaves of parsley after every meal. Other products that control bad breath are coriander seed, mint, clove, cardamom, cinnamon etc.
When your mouth remains empty for a long time, keep anise, cloves, fennel or mints in your mouth. Avocado is another good thing to remove bad breath. One of the causes of bad breath is intestinal putrefaction or decomposition. Avocado effectively controls this problem and solves the problem of halitosis. Raw guava is very good for dental problem and bad odor. Chewing raw guava also cleans the mouth and remove the odor of the mouth. Guava leaves also clean the mouth and removes bad odor. If you feel that the odor is coming from the teeth chew three or four leaves properly and wash your mouth clean with plain water.
It is better to take some precautionary measure than trying to remove halitosis after it has set in. Make a habit of brushing teeth twice daily. Make sure you are drinking enough water all through the day. After eating anything clean your mouth properly. Eat as much as raw food. But avoid eating raw garlic and onion. Eat fibrous vegetables. Avoid using tobacco products and keep your teeth clean.
