dehydrationDehydration in your body can have many effects; nausea, weakness and also shutting down of many body organs.

Toxic Liver

The function of liver in our body is to detoxify and burn the body fat stored in our body. It is essential to understand the importance of liver for in supporting the body’s detoxification process. With a healthy liver it is easier to build a stronger immune system.

Liver acts as a storage plant, power plant and a warehouse of the body. It also helps in getting the body rid of the waste. Liver is responsible for producing bile which is used by the body in digesting and absorbing the fat. It also produces gamma globulin, an immune compound. Liver is responsible for metabolizing the fat, proteins and carbohydrates in the body. It helps in filtering the blood from harmful bacteria and chemicals. It is useful in balancing the electrolytes in blood. Liver is used for storing vitamins and minerals. It also stores sugar in the form of glycogen.

Most of the toxins consumed by out body are non-soluble in water and are soluble only in oils. The fatty tissues of the body tend to store these toxins without releasing them from the body. Liver is made up of many such fatty tissues.

Liver is responsible for converting toxins from being lipid-soluble to water-soluble. On becoming water soluble, the toxins can be flushed from the body with the aid of water. The liver carries out the whole process with the help of complex enzymes.

Therefore it is essential that we understand the importance of staying hydrated and eating high fiber foods.

Slower Fat Burning
Dehydration leads to a slower rate of fat burning by the body. If you want to have a steady fat loss it is necessary to keep your body hydrated by drinking at least 8-10 glasses of water in a day. Many people mistake the feeling of thirst with hunger and end up snacking on the wrong foods, when your body is in need of water.

Dehydration tends to slow down the rate of the fat burning. This happens since the body interprets the dehydration as metabolic shock and shifts its energy to obtaining water. While the body does this it shuts down all other activities such as burning body fat.

Drinking water helps in keeping the body hydrated and burning the fat. You can add lemon to your glass of water for not only the good taste but also for the benefits of lemon in cleaning the liver.
