Cellulite is the accumulation of fat on the upper surface of skin, just beneath the outer skin. Fat accumulation just below the surface makes the area look swollen and reddish. Cellulites are formed in the thigh and bottom regions or in the upper arm and are especially prominent in women. Men do have cellulite formation but in case of men, the fat accumulation may occur beneath muscles rather than just below the outer layer of skin, and hence, may not be obvious.
Cellulite Causes: Cellulite formation is frequently attributed to oestrogen, the female hormone and is reported more in women after menopause. Cellulites are not essentially restricted to women who are on the fatter side as this fat accumulation may also be found in women who are slim. There are theories that suggest that cellulite formation is also due to excessive toxicity in the body.
Cellulite Treatment: Cellulites are treated normally by a diet that would encompass a detoxifying course. Since it is believed that cellulites are formed due to high levels of toxicity, external toxins such as caffeine are to be avoided – doctors would prescribe elimination of coffee, tea, smoking and alcohol to cut down on toxins. Plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables need to be included in diet to counter the toxic effects. It would help to include vegetables in raw form without cooking as part of diet, perhaps as salads in dinner.
Aloe Vera is a detoxifier that cleanses the liver and removes toxins from the body. Around 20 ml of Aloe Vera juice in concentrated form may be mixed with twice the quantity of lukewarm water and could be had in empty stomach in the early hours on a daily basis for 2 – 3 months to cleanse the system, along with a healthy diet rich in fruits and vegetables.
There is also a view that cellulites are formed by mere accumulation of fat and hence could be cured if less fat is consumed and body weight reduced. Regular exercises such as swimming, cycling, fast walking or dancing, along with a strict low-fat diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables is known to be a good cure for cellulites. It is also advised that a slow and steady weight loss regimen is much better when compared to the fast and furious mode of weight reduction.
Detoxification, low fat diet and avoiding tea, coffee, smoking and alcohol would help cure cellulites.
