Myth
Steroid usage leads to Death
Fact
It is important to grasp the fact that steroids are drugs. Drugs, any kind, when taken in excess or without discretion have a harmful effect on the body. Steroids are no different. Common drugs such as aspirin can also lead to complications if they are misused.
The harm to the body increases many fold with steroids based on the fact that consuming steroids is prohibited by the law. This raises the issue of product purity and also the legitimacy. Combine these factors with imprecise information available for their usage and steroids can become lethal.
Myth
Easy Availability of Steroids
Fact
Steroids are illegal substances, therefore not easily available in the open market. This means that to obtain steroids you will have to go through the black market. The quality of the steroid so obtained would be highly debatable. Add to this the risk of being caught with the steroids on your person without a medical prescription and you might end up going to jail for a long time.
Myth
Steroids Are Available in Pill Form Only
Fact
Steroids come in two form for ingestion by the body; oral and inject -able. Most of the steroids available in oral form are anabolic in nature and have a large number of side-effects as these have to be processed by the liver. The inject-able steroids are usually androgenic (lead to male characteristics) and are less harmful to the body as they are not routed through the liver for the body to use them.
The oral steroids cause more harm to the body than the inject-able steroids since these are more anabolic. Properties of all steroids vary depending upon their effect on the body; some tend to add muscle mass while other are good for adding strength. It is safe to say that stronger the steroid, greater will be the side effect caused by it.
