Sherlock Holmes is the latest movie that features Arthur Conan Doyle’s famous fictional character named Sherlock Holmes. The movie has been the directed by Guy Ritchie. The screenplay has been done by Anthony Peckham, Michael Robert Johnson and Simon Kinberg. The screenplay is actually based on Doyle’s characters and Lionel Wigram’s story. The movie has been produced by Dan Lin, Susan Downey, Lionel Wigram and Joel Silver. Robert Downey, Jr. portrays the character of Sherlock Holmes and Jude Law acts as John Watson. The other roles in the movie have been performed by famous actors like Eddie Marsan, Kelly Reilly, Mark Strong and Rachel McAdams. The movie will be released on 25th of December 2009.

The movie is set in the 1891 and the story revolves around the detective Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. Both of them are employed in stopping a conspiracy that boasts of destroying Britain. The film starts with the scene in which Sherlock Holmes is apprehending a leader and murderer Lord Blackwood (played by Mark Strong).

The movie’s official plot summary was released in May 2009 and since then the movie has been awaited. The movie has had its world premiere on 20th of December 2009 and it’s supposed to be released worldwide on 25th December 2009 except UK where it will get released on December 26th. According to some people the incarnation of Sherlock Holmes that has attitude and visual flair is going to look too modern and for others it is going to be an enjoyable experience. What actually it turns out to be can only be decided after watching the movie.
