How to launch a new product?

The strategies need to be framed and rechecked analyzing the market conditions and the performance of the competitors. What is the general strategy adopted by most of the successful firms who have well established brands in the market? The marketing matrix could give the answer. Four operating divisions are defined by this matrix.

The first one is the case where a firm markets its existing products to its already existing customers. This could be viewed as a strategy to improve the penetration into the customer database. This strategy is always successful unless the supplied product or service was against the general choices or tastes of the customer, which in case may attract adverse results.

The second case is where a firm extends its products to new markets and customers. This includes launching the product in highly potential and promising new markets. Market expansion is a comparatively tougher and riskier step compared to the first strategy, but it offers a handful of benefits if the target and results turned out to be matching.

Marketing Strategies

Another operating and marketing strategy is to leverage the already existing customer base to launch and boost up new products. Promotional packs and constant updates regarding the products released and their features are provided to the customers at their door steps, tempting them to go for a purchase. The existing consumers are offered attractive offers to attract them to the newly launched products. Once a relatively stable market and revenue is established, the firm goes on aiming at the masses, a safe marketing and product launching strategy.

The most complicated as well prospective strategy is to launch a new product in a new market. The pre-launch actions that are mandatory in this case are a detailed study of the market, possibilities for business, competitors and the risks involved. A balanced approach of all the four marketing strategies would be the best option to go for.
