Taking Care of Your Furs
Winter is here and the days of the fur and wool are in. Fur stands for elegance and the luster and sheen of the fur tells about its health. To look elegant in your fur, make sure you take proper care of it and preserve it the right way. It is also necessary because you do not want this expensive piece of luxury item to get damaged due to lack of proper care. So, now go through this.
The first thing is taking your fur off the hanger. There is a tendency to yank off the clothes off the hanger. Do not do this in case of furs. Put your hands in and lift it off the shoulders. This saves the fur from getting loosened off the inner lining. You should always take care to see that the fur does not get stretched at any cost. So be careful when sitting with a fur coat on. If required unbutton the bottom ones to spread the coat behind your back. Fur is a delicate substance. If your fur comes in contact with any perfume of cosmetics then remove it as soon as you can because they can react to give permanent spots.
Once you want to store your fur make sure that it is away from direct contact with the elements as well from direct light and heat. Give ample space for the fur to hang in your closet as they need breathing space. But before putting away your fur till the next winter get it cleaned. A visit to the furrier once a year maintains the luster and sheen that your fur is all about. Also make sure that you make the minor repairs. A stitch in time saves nine goes well with furs also. Do not ignore even minor damages as they can snowball into such a stage where you may need to throw away the fur altogether.
The other matter of concern is carrying the fur on a trip. Make sure that you get it packed outside in with the fur facing fur and the lining staying out. This ensures that the fur does not get brushed by coarse garments or surfaces. If it gets flattened, then simply hold by the hem and shake it up. They will get fluffy again naturally.
Follow these tips and enjoy your fur for long.
