Keep Your Skin Glowing in Winter

winter-skinWinter is a challenge to all types of skin. All types of skin may show skin problems of their own nature in winter. During winter our skin needs extra care because below the surface of our skin the oil glands become relatively inactive and produce less natural moisturizer. So you have to give a supplement to keep your skin fit. Cold winds and dry atmosphere creates wrinkle on our skin and make various skin problems such as rashes, itching and eczema. To keep your skin free from this just follow few simple measures.

In winter use soap as little as possible. Instead use cleansing milk or homemade cleanser to clean your skin. To make cleanser at home you will need milk, powdered lentils, a little flour, lime juice, turmeric and rose water. Make a mixture of all these things and keep it in the freezer for further use. Take out the required amount just 10-15 minutes before use and keep it under the sun. The mixture will melt down. Now apply it all over the body and keep rubbing gently. The dirt and the dead cell of your body will come out automatically. This treatment will make you dirt free and add glow to your skin. You may add few drops of sandalwood, jasmine or lavender oil to get a beautiful fragrance all over the body. Sweet smell of the oils will keep you refreshed all day long.

In winter most of the people bathe in extreme hot water to get rid off cold. Extreme hot water and too much use of woolen garments make our skin dry, scaly and wrinkled. So use Luke warm water for your bathing purpose. Give your body an oil massage just before washing. For this purpose you may use a mixture of olive oil and coconut oil. Massage gently and let the skin absorb the oil. If your skin feels dry after bathing apply a mixture of rose water and few drops of glycerin or almond oil. You may also use a blend of saffron and olive oil for the purpose. In addition olive oil and saffron combination removes chill burn and make you fairer. Do not neglect your feet also. Give them the same treatment like your body. Use pumice stone to rub the feet.
