There’s no doubt in the fact that we feel happy and jolly in the sun but another truth is that solar radiation causes maximum harm to our skin. It is a fact that Sun is the source of vitamins D that is essential for healthy bones and teeth. But over exposure to sun rays leads to sun-burns, skin diseases and even skin cancer. Exposure to ultraviolet light may lead to photo ageing also. Photo ageing is responsible for ageing and skin blemishes. You should do all that you can do to remain protected from harmful effects of sun.
If you closely watch a tanned person body you will find a lot of brown spots, horny bumps, mottled patches, finely etched lines, scaly plaques, enlarged blood vessels and even small cancerous growths. These changes are harmful effect due to over exposure of sun. Shielding yourself from sun is an extremely important task.
Make sure that you covered the exposed areas of the body with sunscreens that has an SPF more than 15. Sun Protection Factor is a very important criterion. Make sure that when you go out in the sun, you wear clothes that mostly cover all parts of the body. You can even try wearing long sleeved shirts along with long pants. Anti-glaring glasses that effectively reflects UV rays can also be a great help. You can use a scarf to protect your hair or use a hair sunscreen as well. You can also protect your face by using a wide-brimmed hat. Make sure that direct sunlight does not fall over your skin. You should avoid going out between 11 AM to 2 PM. This is the time that’s strongest rays of sun are incidental on earth.
Whatever harm has already been to your skin you should be able to cure it either using cosmetics or by using natural therapies. A lot many people use lemon that act as natural bleach and remove any tanning. Keep your skin hydrated. Whenever you come from sun make sure that you wash your face and then apply a good moisturizer because Sun also dehydrates your skin. Make sure you drink a lot of water to prevent water retention from skin.
