There are various varieties of artificial nails that you can choose from. You have acrylic nails, gel nails, wrap nails, solar nails and many more. You can go for any one of these depending on your needs. Here’s how you go about applying a general artificial nail.

First off, remove the nail polish from your nails and wash your nails such that all the traces of the polish and also the remover is gone so you have a clean and a chemical free nails.

After you are done with this, clean your cuticles with a cuticle remover and wash your hands to remove the left over remover on your nails.

Remember to clip away your already grown nails and wash your hands clean.

You can try filing your nails to make sure the artificial nail fixes itself to your nails properly. But this is not the only option. If you are worried about spoiling your nails in the process of roughing up, you can drop this idea. In this case, a ridge filer can be used to protect your nails.

Before you try to apply one to your nail, it is important to see if the nail tip that you are choosing would fit your nail tip -- that is, if it is the size of your nail.

Once you have chosen your size, apply the nail glue to your nails and fix the nail tip to your nails. In case the tip doesn’t fit, you can file the edges until it does. Remember to be quick in applying the tip since the glue dries out very quick. If the positioning does not seem proper and the glue has dried out, you have to soak your fingers in the nail soak and gently remove them out.

After the gluing is done, you can test it’s strength by twisting the nail and see if it comes off. If it does, you have to glue it again.
