body-scrubBody scrubs are the new in thing after soaps, to be used for cleansing the skin during baths. A glowing face and lustrous locks should be accompanied with a radiant body too, as they complement each other. A weekly scrub in the shower will take care of all your skin problems like tanning, exfoliating and even dull dry skin that comes out in ugly patches.

There are different types of scrubs that help in cleansing the skin and giving it a natural glow, apart from exfoliating and cleaning out the dry dead cells from the skin surface. Have a look at the different varieties of body scrubs available.

A variety of scrubs are for you to check out, with them ranging from sugar, almond, apricot, walnut, sea-alt, hazelnut etc. Many of them have aromatic essential oils as ingredients , with a different scent and character to it. For example, chamomile is one which can calm sensitive skin, geranium is good for tightening and toning loose skin, the herb sage has a function of soaking up the oil from oily skin surface, the list is endless!

Like, pineapple enzymes can help break down dead skin cells; clay china is great for you if you have oily skin, as it removes excess oil, leaving the skin oh-so-touchable! For those of you who are more inclined towards getting soft and supple skin, choose a scrub which has beeswax, jojoba oil , glycerin or honey which can do the needful.

If your body scrub contains essential oils, leave it on for a few minutes so that the oils can penetrate inside the skin , leaving it soft and supple from within. A word of caution for those with sensitive skin:  Scrubs should not be used as they may be another  reason for irritable skin and rashes.

Here how to do it: Cleanse you skin by taking two tablespoons of scrub and massage through the entire body in circular motion , paying special attention to the hands, arms and feet, as they may be tanned and in need of a cleansing. Scrub over heels and elbows with the help of a loofah or a pumice stone . Finally, wash it all off with lukewarm water and dry with a soft towel. Dab on a bit of moisturizing lotion on the whole body after it exfoliation, as this helps retain the softness and give a glow!
