Blush is used to boost the shape of the face while doping makeup. The blush can be applied with the help of a blusher. It gives natural color to the face and highlights the cheekbones. Sometimes blush is used create a slimming illusion on a round face. But not all women need to apply blush. Hence mainly for adding color to the face and to define the shape of the face a blush is used. In case your face has proper shape then you can use the blush to add color to your face and highlight the cheekbones. In case you are using blush to define your face, then you should first study exactly which area of your face needs the blusher.

Blush naturally comes in three shades. Those shades are pink, peach and brown. It is better to use powder blush, as it can be applied easily. But if your skin is dry then you should apply a cream blush. It will moisturize your skin perfectly. The blush has to be applied on face after applying the foundation. The blush and the foundation should be blended well after applying the blush. For doing the proper blending, you will need a good brush. Here are some tips to apply blush in a way so that it doesn't make you look too made up.

Tips to Apply Blush –

  • You should always use clean brushes to apply blush. For this after every use, clean the brushes properly and store them properly. The dirty brushes carry bacteria, which increases your risks of getting skin disorders.
  • To achieve a sexy look, dab a little shimmery blush on the highest point of your cheekbone and spread it towards your eye.
  • If you are using a powder blush, then spread it in one direction only. Applying powder blush over and over can cause streaks.
  • If your skin is dry then don’t apply powder blush, as it will make your skin look drier. Instead apply cream blush. It will blend properly on your cheeks and will make it look natural too.
  • If you are tired with hard days work and have to attend a party too, then apply a dusky pink blush. It will make your cheeks look fresh.

For applying blush on your cheeks, you will need following things:

  • Mirror
  • Blush
  • Blush brush
  • Powder
  • Bronzer blusher

The correct procedure of applying blush is still not known to all. Hence some find it difficult to get natural looking glow on their face after applying the blush. Here are the steps that are involved in applying blush. If you will follow them thoroughly then you can also have a natural look even after a heavy makeup.

Steps to Apply Blush –

The blush has to be applied on the apple of your cheek. To find the apple on your cheek, you will need to smile looking into the mirror. With the help of a good blusher apply the blush on the apple of your cheek. You will need to remove the extra blush from the skin with the help of the brush.

With the help of a short, up and down vertical strokes spread the blush from the apple of your cheek towards the top of your ear. Remember to apply the strokes a teardrop shape, with the thinner part at the top and wider part towards your nose.

Blend this blush with the foundation on your face. Along the hairline apply soft horizontal strokes on the top of the vertical strokes. Take proper care that the blush color should not mix into the hair.

In case by mistake you apply blush in excess, then with the help of powder try to tone down the blush on your cheek.

If you think that you want some more blushes on your face, then apply the blush across your forehead and spread it just across your eyebrows.

If you have purchased appropriate shades of blush, which match to your natural skin tone, and apply the blush as per the directions, then nothing can go wrong. But many times women get confused as which blush suits them, as there are plenty of shades and tones of blushes in the market. It is better to know your skin tone first. If your skin color is light, then only light blush will suit you. You can even take help of your beautician in deciding the perfect blush for you.
