Choose your makeup – self help

The unflawed and appropriate makeup is all about to blend and to use the correct makeup products and that is why a good set of brushes and others makeup components like eyelash curlers, tweezers, puff and sponge, becomes necessary to include in the application of any makeup. The makeup tools make the application more comfortable and more professional appearing. Using an appropriate makeup tools is the way to make the products go on the expectation they are intended and to offer you the look always have dreamed about.

One should take care that there are lots of makeup tools available in dozens of varieties. For instance, the makeup brushes come in various forms and shapes and each of them has its own function. Most of them are made up of red sables, ox hairs, camel hairs and black sables. A good set of brushes would include big soft brush to powder, fine brush to application for eyelids, a flat brush to perform for eye shadows and comb for the eyebrows. The rounded brushes are generally to eye-line and character lining. The flat ones are used to color the eye, or to the lips i.e. for application and blending.

What makeup products to go for?

Several points are to be considered here - the skin type and color, the personality, the event, and last but not the least, the price - all of these certainly influence the selection of the cosmetic products. The skin is the very important factor that should influence the selection of the cosmetic products - the two aspects those needed to be considered include: The type of the skin and the color of the skin. One should go for the cosmetics that suits the skin type, for example never purchase any cosmetic product that is made up for the oily skin if your skin type is drier one since this would certainly be inviting troubles. Similarly, one should not use cosmetics formulated for drier skin if user’s skin type is oily.

Another aspect of choosing makeup is the harmony of colors. Color harmony contributes everything together, giving some well coordinated and accordant effects. Any makeup one uses should enhance the natural coloration, and should not overlap it. The color of the makeup is to match with the color of the skin, the eyes and the hair.

There are two basic color-fundamentals in makeup

1. The bluish color harmony or the cold toners, and

2. The gold color harmony or warm toners

One should study the tones of the face thoroughly. The face might have several color tones and hence identify them and utilize the best color harmony. Most of the Asian people have got the gold harmony-yellow, ecru, orange and brownish tones with, probably, a slight of greenish. People having the bluish harmony have blue, purplish, pinkish, reddish-blue and grayish tones in their skins. Hence, one should use only colors that complement the natural skin color.

Another thing to remember is that not everyone can bear heavy make-up. It is by all odds, better to look simple make-up, rather than monstrously plastered. Also, the dress must suit the makeup and is got to be just right on the occasion. One may wonder that why some cosmetics are high-ticket? Though cosmetics are formulated from the same basic ingredients, the makers, sometimes, make some additions and alterations such as oils, for instance, may be obtained from expensive sources or might have marvelously esoteric origin. This single factor can hike the price of the cosmetics, although, there is no evidence to suggest that the expensive oils are in any way better in performance to that of the cheaper oils. Perfumes can also significantly affect the costs of the products. Expensive perfume inflates the price of cosmetic products, without really improving its performance by any means. As a matter of fact, perfumes are also frequent factor of allergic reaction and hence choose your makeup with least additives.

One should also checkout for expire date and the ingredients. They play important role in the quality of the product. Note down that any of the ingredients is not allergic to your skin. For better results, consult your beauty parlor expert for further guidance.
