What are they?

Hair dye is a soluble solution or a product that is used to stain as well as to color the hair on the scalp. In spite of many news and confirmation that dyes are hazardous to the overall health of the hair and could be even cancerous if come in contact with skin or the blood, hair dyes are available in the number of hundreds of thousands all across the world. People who are from glamour industries such as modeling, film-stars, celebrities and all other famous people often use this in order to look differently and to match with the latest trend.

Different kinds of hair dyes

Basically, there are two types of hair dyers readily available in the market. Herbal dyer and chemically made dyer. It is now proven that that hair dye made up of some natural ingredients including potential herbs are less hypoallergenic as compared to those that are made up of various chemicals or other synthetic materials. Therefore, it is very essential to go for herbal dye product. People often get mesmerized with the results that chemically made dye give in some minutes but in long term, one has to pay a lot for this.

Dyeing the hair with natural colors

Natural hair dye is available in semi-permanent and permanent colors. Semi-permanent dyes are less likely damaging the hair as compared to permanent dyes. Permanent dyes open the hair follicles and actually change the color of the hair and that is why they do not wash out. Semi-permanent dyes simply stain the hair with their colors that slowly gets out over a period of anywhere from one week to one month!

In case, one wants to end up with hair lighter than the natural color, semi-permanent hair dye is not that cup of a tea, since it stains, and may not change the actual color of the hair in the fashion permanent dyes do.

Option lies just around you!

Commercial hair dye might make coloring the hair easy, but at a price of your hair! Such products can harm the hair, leaving them damaged and brittle. Some of the chemically made dyes even pose a risk to the mental and physical state. If anyone wants to spice up the life with a different hair color and do not want to undergo any artificial therapy, one should consider homemade hair dye.

Plenty of products can be used coloring the hair . And most of them are probably in your kitchen right now! For instance, you can use food coloring agent or powdered drink adding to color the hair temporarily. Made from such homely ingredients, one can make great hair colors from bright yellow to deep red or blue, free from any unpleasant effects of typical hair dye chemicals.

If you are look forward to have a homemade hair dye that cover your grays, look at using sage and rosemary. For this, simply simmer sage and rosemary in plain water for about 30 minutes. The, leave this mixture to infuse for some hours (about 10). After this allotted time gets passed, apply this powerful mixture onto your hair and keep it on until it becomes dry. Finally, wash and dry the hair as in any normal process. One may need to repeat such procedure once in a week in order to get the desired shade.

Another great way to have hair dye is to use walnut husks and water. To go for this, simply boil the husks in water for about 20 min. After boiling, filter the mixture and use that liquid to color the hair. This simple though effective dye is good for getting brownish shade and make them darker.

Keep in mind that there are hundreds of products on hair color. Natural is natural and hence, one should check the product thoroughly before purchasing. It also depends upon the type of hair you have on your scalp. Since some people have naturally oily hair and others are gifted with dry. Coloring the hair depends upon the hair you have and hence, you should go for appropriate hair color that suits your hair. You can seek some hairstyle maker’s advice for the same.
