Every one of us has probably all the experiences, at some time or other, that we walk out of some hair salon full of appall and letdown at our new avatar! Well, now this does not have to happen anymore. When you talk with your hair stylist, one should be honest in this discussion! If you do not want spending hours every day fixing up the hairstyles, be sure to let hairstylist know. Listen to him/her if they have any suggestions.

If anyone knows what haircut and style they want, it is best if it is shown to the hairstylist a picture of it. One can browse many hairstyle websites and get a printout of one for those, or find in some beauty magazines. This helps avoiding misunderstandings.

Many times, salons have a binder or a catalog that can give at least an approximate image. You can certainly look at that and seek hairstylist advice that whether the selected style would suit on you or not.

Hairstyle and haircut can change one’s avatar for sure and this is the time to get looked into it. The latest trend is to be followed with not losing the choice of your own taste. Whatever the case is, haircut and hairstyle are carefully to be taken under the observation so that they give great look. Let us have some hairstyles and haircuts those are famous nowadays –

Bowl cut

This is a cut, which gets its name from its origin of placing some bowl onto the head and then cutting off everything that pops out from under the bowl! This will give hair off for several inches in length on the top along and close cropped hair under the bowl’s border and no blend (or passage) between those two lengths. The bowl cut turned popular during the Great Depression as that was easiest way of cutting the hair! Though the techniques might have improved, this cut still has the same basics and characteristics of longer hair on top and short hair under bowl lines that is generally just above the ears.

Clipper blade and attachment

Electric clipper is used to cut off the hair short. If used directly onto the head without any attachment guards, they would shave off the hair from the scalp, leaving quite short stubble. Some clippers utilize a series of various plastic guards over the cutting blades for adjusting the length of hairs, although others have different length clip-on blades. Such clipper attachments (guards or blades) have been used to provide a uniform length of hairs to be left. Barbers have got both adjustable attachment and standard attachment. Clippers might use attachment numbers for indicating the length of hair that are to be left.

College cut

The college cut is quite similar to an ivy league. In this, the back has been clipper cut short all the way back to the crown with the length that increases until the bangs build anywhere from 1-3 inches at the front-side. Bangs might be left straight down or can also be brushed off to the sides.

Crew cut

Out of the US, the term crew cut has a much restricted meaning as compared to in the U.S. The non US definition for this is a cut, which is short all over (about ¼ inch), possibly tapered a bit at the backs and sides. In the US, crew cut is used more generally to refer to varieties of short haircuts. In general, the US definition refers to the cuts those are tapered at the backs and sides but might be up to an inch on the top.

Dipped mushroom cut

This is also popular as dipped bowl cut since it is like a regular bowl cut, nevertheless, here, the back will follow the curvature around the ears and "dips" at least 1-2 inches lower at the backside or the head. This would prevent the bowl cut to have a look much like the sides view of a "cupcake" when the bowl has been cut very high.
